Cr1000a vs cr1000b. First I connected my PC directly to the 2nd CR1000A via one of the ethernet ports (the one that will be the extender) and set its LAN IP to be in the same subnet, e.g. 192.168.1.2, as router #1 (which is 192.168.1.1). I also turned off DHCP for the 2nd router. I made sure SON was enabled on both routers and setup the WIFI SSIDs and passwords to ...

CR1000A and G3100 will fight for dominance over E3200. This is a no-no, unless you run VLAN at home. I learned this the hard way. I've been told the G3100 has better Wifi than the CR1000. In my testing, G3100/E3200's WiFi 6 High band can reach 1024 Mbps on a 2 x 2 client. CR1000A's WiFi 6 5Ghz can reach 880 Mbps.

If it's like the CR1000A, the range is more limited than my TP-Link 6Ghz APs. Furthermore, with the CR1000A (after VZ ha done and end-to end reset) the speeds were about 300/300 exactly. When I went back the old router VZ Speeds went to something like 290/340. Makes me wonder if the "end-to-end reset" may have tweaked the CR1000A for speed tests.CR1000A Bridge Mode. 11-24-2022 07:34 AM. Hello. There's CR1000A and CR1000B. They're basically the same but manufactured by 2 different companies. The A is the one that keeps dropping 2.4GhZ network. The G1100 is a great router and it had decent coverage in my house before I replaced it with a UniFi Dream Machine with 3 additional APs to get excellent coverage in my house as well as extending to my workshop. So I have literally the exact same problem going on with my CR1000A (upgraded from G1100). Verizon speed tests run great, any other speedtest site shows significantly slower (~200-250 Mbps) upload speed (again same conditions, using the 1Gbps plan). Our Verizon CR1000A router is on the first floor and my home office is on the second floor, probably 40 feet from the router in a straight line. I don't have separate SSIDs set up for 2.4 vs 5 Ghz bands currently, so when I'm up in the office my laptop defaults to the 2.4 Ghz band, which ends up being punishingly slow.
