Rrecs time standards

I ran my numbers as soon as the RRECS standards were published in the national magazine in 2018. I sat down with a calculator and my latest mail count numbers. Three hours later I calculated I will lose 6 hours per week due to the new RRECS standards. Get a calculator and figure it out.

Rrecs time standards. Under the Rural Route Evaluated Compensation System (RRECS), every rural route will receive an "evaluation" that reflects the time it takes to deliver the route each week. That evaluation then sets the compensation for the rural letter carriers who carry that route (either an annual salary or, for some employees, an hourly rate).

The trick is, I think this new bundling and verification time replaces the DPS letter time from the old 4241-M (section 3a and 3b either 0.0333 or 0.0232). There is a time listed to case DPS letters, but the note says "only for second run DPS or fewer than 400 letters."

Under RRECS parcel time for an item with no bar code to the door there is no clear explanation. You should get whatever the credit is for the size of the item along with the 0.1954 for the per piece door credit drop along with footage from the nanny tote. I know many had some " efficiency " habits that were against protocols. I ask because, perhaps rrecs training isn't so much the answer as educating carriers to job standards. The main Issue with RRECS is three-fold: No carrier going in to RRECS could possibly determine if they would be going up or down based on the information we were provided. The reg knows exactly how to pull down, subs just get frustrated. Little things make a world of difference, sadly few regs in my experience truly care.
