Written by Mike Peluso. . January 29, 2023. . I took the mid week fishing report off this week. Some of the reason is things are just in stall mode in the ice fishing world. The conditions have not gotten better at all. In some cases it’s gotten worse. Again, there are some slush pockets on Devils Lake that will swallow you up.

Simply not going to be the same temps day to day. This Saturday, being 80 will bump them up quickly. Was out a week ago, had temps 50-53. Some nice cabbage already popping. Caught about 50 gills, perch and bass combined. Thickest weeds held the fish. Nothing really up tight.The poor ice conditions caused organizers to cancel Battle on Bago, billed as the state's largest ice fishing tourney.
